Sometimes, you can just walk into a shop and sense the joy. Maybe it's the colors in the room, maybe it's the design of the space or the products available. Maybe it's all of that and more which is exactly the case when you walk into the new location of The Ruff Life located at 46 Baltimore Avenue in downtown Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

The independent, woman-owned and family-run small business features the happy, whimsical breed-specific art of Sara England (which is also sold in pet boutiques and gift shops throughout the USA, Canada and the UK).

In this episode of the A&E Report, host Michael Sprouse visits with Sara England in the gallery which highlights her fun and lively work featuring breed-specific dogs.

From giclée-quality prints, sandstone coasters, cheese platters & cutting boards, personalized Tees and many more home decor products, Sara has something featuring pet lover's furry friends in countless cheerful scenarios.

lxu9Wnz.jpgThough dogs are her specialty, Sara can also customize a work of art featuring practically any pet-no matter what the breed or mix-into a creative and colorful work of art, treasured keepsake or extra-special gift designed exclusively for pet owners or dog lovers featuring just whatever unique characteristics make that four-footed family member so special.

Cat lovers, fret not, you can find some unique feline inspired work as well at The Ruff Life, though, man's best friend gets the main share of the spotlight.

It's difficult to not find the dog breed you may be looking for at The Ruff Life and once you do, you have a wide range of creative and artistic options on how that breed is presented. Are you looking for an Akita enjoying a steamed crab feast and a mug of beer with a couple of his canine buddies? You're in luck. How about your beloved Berger Picard complete with a beret enjoying a glass of red wine and cheese at a Parisian café? Sara has you covered quicker than you can say très magnifique!

Working from either existing photographs or photos taken during a portrait session, Sara, after dialoguing with the client, will custom create a truly individualized, colorful work of art that captures the distinct personality and unique characteristics of the four-legged subject.

For those who have sadly lost a beloved pet, Sara's immense talent allows her to create a work of art based on an old photo which makes for a truly poignant and heartfelt keepsake in memoriam of the dearly departed pet and the eternal love and loyalty that once brightened their master's world.

rXSWu43.jpg"I recently had a client who commissioned a long, horizontal piece that contained a likeness from each of their forty pets from across their lifetime," Sara told Sprouse. "We had to go through a tremendous number of photographs, but it was worth it. They loved the result and it was very touching experience for us both."

Sara England is thrilled by her new location. She initially opened The Ruff Life about a year ago (when she was first featured in The Arts & Entertainment Report) in a space that was set back off Baltimore Avenue. While business was good, the new location (where she relocated in January of this year) offers more room for display, an office area and an on-location studio. "This space has more of a gallery feel to it. I just love it," she said.

A&E Report Michael Sprouse is a big fan of The Ruff Life and Sara's work. "When I first met Sara about a year ago, I was very impressed by her skill, fast wit and her ability to quickly come up with a new idea or concept. She's also one of the hardest working, dedicated artists I know. She's super friendly and charismatic and always willing to help someone fine tune exactly what they are looking for. Her success only underscores those qualities. If you're a dog lover on Delmarva, you simply have to put a visit to The Ruff Life on your must-do list" he said.
