Annual GALA to Support Local Pregnancy Center
Shirley Grace Pregnancy Center located in Berlin, MD is an organization dedicated to providing a safe haven for women during their maternal years. In the past seven years the center has served over 2000 women and children by providing FREE pregnancy tests, ultrasound for pregnancy viability, parenting education and support groups. These services can only continue to be provided here on the Lower Eastern Shore through the financial support of the community at large - YOU!!!
On Saturday, April 21, 2018, hopefully you can join us at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, MD for our annual GALA to raise funds so that our ministry can continue to offer HOPE to the under-served and most vulnerable members of our community. This elegant evening will run from 5:00 until 10:00 PM and include fine dining, silent auction items, a 50/50 Raffle, dancing, and special features that will touch your heart. A financial invitation will be extended during the evening so that participants can PARTNER with the center, so we can continue to support the clients who come to our door looking for HOPE. Special guests for this event will be Nikki Leonti Edgar and her husband who were top 10 contenders on America's Got Talent, making it to the semi-finals in 2016. Nikki will share her personal journey as a teen mom as well as her singing talent with us. Check her out on Google or on her Facebook page. 2nd Annual Mic Ultra SPF 5K at the Beach for Melanoma at Rehoboth Ale House May 13, 2018 - May 13, 2018

Summer is approaching with plans of spending time outdoors and especially on the beach. Too much sun is never a good thing. You need protection from the sun's potential harmful rays. Come out on Sunday, May 13th at 8:30 AM for two reasons. 1. Kickoff Mother's Day with a fun run and bring Mom. 2. Learn how to protect yourself and loved ones by practicing skin safety in the sun. The 2nd Annual Mic Ultra SPF 5K is hosted and sponsored by the Rehoboth Ale House located at 15 Wilmington Ave. Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Proceeds will go to Moving for Melanoma, a statewide effort to promote awareness, protection, and research about melanoma and other skin cancers.

Adam Newman of the Rehoboth Ale House invites folks of all ages to come out on Mother's Day morning and support a great cause, your skin! This is very important to everyone living at and visiting the beach area.
Pre-registration for the SPF 5K is $25 until May 10th and after, the cost is $30. Students pay $20 and $25. Non running guests may attend after party for $10. Online registration is at www.races2run.com and click on Beach Races. Early packet pickup and late registration will be on Saturday, May 12th at Rehoboth Ale House from 2pm-4pm. On the day of the event registration will begin at 7:30 AM. Race starts sharply at 8:30 AM.
The course is USATF certified with chip timing. Course starts and finishes on the boardwalk. Advance registration entrants receive a tee shirt. Trophies will be given to overall male and female winners and masters male and female winners. Awards go to top three male and female finishers in 10-year age categories 9 and under to 80 and over as well as to the top three male and female walkers. The largest team will be honored with the Rehoboth Ale House Cup and happy hour cards. The fastest pre-registered team with the best overall time (including one female) will also be honored. The post-race, Mother's Day breakfast party is sponsored by Rehoboth Ale House. Beer will also be available for participants age 21 and over.

The 3rd Annual Baldcypress Bluegrass Festival is a benefit for Delaware Wild Lands (DWL). Festival grounds are on the scenic Roman Fisher Farm at the edge of the Great Cypress Swamp, the largest forest on the Delmarva Peninsula. DWL owns and manages 10,600 acres of the Swamp. Since 2011, we have planted 200,000 trees here.

Throughout the day there will be a combination of blue grass music artists, local food trucks, handcrafted goods to purchase, and FREE bus rides through the Great Cypress Swamp.

Advance tickets for adults purchased online until May 4 are $25. Tickets after May 5 and at the gate are $35. Teens aged 13-17 are $10. Kids 12 and under are free.

Join the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition for the 9th Annual DE-feet Breast Cancer 5K on Sunday, May 20, 2018. This event will honor the life and memory of Kim Miller, Friend of DBCC. The 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Fun Walk is open to participants of all ages. Featuring giveaways, race awards, recognition for breast cancer survivors and a post-race party under the tent with beer & wine garden for those age 21 and older! The event will be held rain or shine.

Run or walk in honor or memory of someone in your life who has been impacted by breast cancer. All proceeds from the 2018 DE-Feet Breast Cancer 5K benefit DBCC's programs that increase breast cancer awareness, promote the importance of early detection, provide access to mammograms and cervical cancer screenings, and provide support and resources to women and men in our local community who are newly diagnosed or facing recurrence of breast cancer.

The 11th annual Artisans Fair will feature unique handcrafted art objects from 9 am to 3 pm. Artisans will exhibit both inside and outside, showing textiles, fine art, glass, jewelry, photography, woodworking, metalwork and sculpture.
