Maryland woman arrested for Counterfeit Tickets

(Rehoboth Beach, Del) - A Maryland woman was arrested Wednesday night August 9, 2017, for attempting to use counterfeit tickets at Funland in Rehoboth Beach. The woman, 81-year-old Marilyn Hammerman of Rockville, Maryland attempting to use counterfeit tickets to access the rides.

At around 7:30 pm, Rehoboth Beach Police were called to Funland for a report that a patron had provided counterfeit tickets to an employee to ride the bumper cars. The employee, who had worked at Funland for several years, recognized the tickets provided by Hammerman as being fraudulent from past incidents and immediately contacted management. Police were eventually called to the scene as Hammerman was in possession of approximately 20 fraudulent tickets. Hammerman was arrested and charged later Wednesday evening following an investigation into the allegations.

Hammerman was arrested and charged with 1 count of theft of services under $1500.00, a misdemeanor. Hammerman was released on a $100.00 unsecured bail.
