(Georgetown, DE.)-Former Woodbridge Basketball Coach Damon Ayers is back coaching in the Henlopen Conference this year.

"It is great to do what I love to do and being at one of the elite schools in Delaware and surrounding by a great group of players and guys that have worked hard and bought into our system," said Coach Ayers.

Coach Ayers is the new Sussex Tech Ravens boys basketball coach.Coach Ayers said the Ravens are the right fit for him.

"Because this is where I started back in 1999 in 2000 under Kobasa so I learned a lot of valuable things as a coach so really it has helped me prosper as a coach in my career," said Coach Ayers.

His team is 1-0 after defeating the Dover Senators on Friday night.

That is a big deal because in the last two years they have only won 5 games.

Ricky Kane said things are different with Coach Ayers at the helm.

"We have to work harder in practice and we want to bring more momentum and our team just works together," said Kane.

Kane and the team are back in action on Friday when they take on Polytech on the road.
The game begins at 7:15 P.M.
