(Accomac, Va) - The first lawsuit has been filed in Accomack County against Shrimp Heads Inc. which owns the restaurant that served tainted chowder in Chincoteague in September. The lawsuit was filed by Charles Coffield of West Alexander, Pennsylvania who became ill after eating the chowder at the Chincoteague Chili Chowder Cook-Off. More than 180 people were affected by the outbreak across 8 states including Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Coffield is asking for a jury trial.
