(Hurlock, Pittsville, Md) - Firefighters on the Eastern Shore responded to two different fires just minutes apart Christmas morning, December 25, 2017.
The first was in Dorchester County, on Beulah Road, Hurlock. An electrical failure caused a fire in a home office. Damage was estimated at $17,000 to the structure and contents.
The second fire was in Wicomico County, where firefighters were called to a home on Pittsville Road, Pittsville. The fire was discovered by a passerby and caused $50,000 damage to the home and contents. The Fire Marshall's office says the fire was the result of a woodstove chimney igniting combustibles.
The family is being helped by the Red Cross.
