(Selbyville, Del) - A crash early Friday morning, June 1, 2018, seriously injured a man on a motorcycle and his passenger. State Police say it happened on Route 54, west of Fenwick Island. An Uber driver with two passengers pulled from the left turn lane, into the travel lane and the motorcycle struck the car. The impact caused the operator of the motorcycle, a 47-year-old man from Rehoboth Beach, and his 42-year-old female passenger to be ejected. The Volkswagen was able to come to a controlled stop and remained at the scene.
The man on the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and was first taken to Beebe Medical Center, then flown to Christiana Hospital. His passenger, who was also not wearing a helmet was taken to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury with serious non-life threatening injuries.
