(REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.) -Tickets are going fast for the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival.
The president of the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival is Dennis Santangini.
"It is not straight-ahead jazz like when jazz first started and it migrated to other sounds and most of it we do smooth jazz," said Santangini.
For the first time, there is a 50's Doo Wop Show with WRDE Cool Bobby B, Bob Backman.
"But we have expanded and we are doing a Doo-Wop show and that will be at the bottle and cork and it is the drifters, tokens, and the persuaders I believe," said Santangini.
The event in Rehoboth is still going strong after 29 years. They use different venues for the event.
"We grew slowly and at the beginning we did the bandstand and we migrated here to the convention center and as the area grew we were able to have a wonderful performing arts at Cape Henlopen High School and it expanded so it gave us more to show and more venues," said Santangini.
Santangini said the next year the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival will expand to 10 ten days in October.
The Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival is one of two jazz events this weekend. The 6th annual True Blue Jazz Festival kicks off tonight and also runs through Sunday at various venues.
