(OCEAN CITY, Md.) -
The Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) is reminding everyone to expect traffic delays and lots of pedestrians this weekend. It's the annual wearing o' the green on Coastal Highway. The Delmarva Irish-American Club
is gearing up to host its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade this Saturday. This tradition has become the second largest St. Patrick's Day parade in Maryland
The parade begins at 12:00 p.m. on 57th Street and marches down Coastal Highway to the 45th Street Shopping Center. WRDE will be broadcasting the parade live starting at 11:30 a.m. This is the only way to see the floats, bands, and all the fun from the comfort of your own home.
Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane from 63rd Street to 43rd Street. Northbound traffic will stay open, but U-turns and left-hand turns will not be permitted along the parade route.
OCPD says delays may be seen as early as 9 a.m. and that congestion can be expected until after 2 p.m. The police department reccommends using Route 50 and arriving before 10:30 a.m. to get into town.
