SEAFORD, Del.-  A person was found dead inside a home after a fire in Seaford. The blaze also hurt one paramedic. 

According to the Delaware State Office of the Fire Marshal, the fire happened on Hearns Pond Road around 9:30 a.m.  The Seaford Volunteer Fire Department and Sussex County Paramedics arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the home, where a person was inside.

Firefighters say they tried to rescue the person but the fire was too heavy. A Sussex County paramedic was hurt during a rescue attempt and taken to the hospital, where they were later released. When the fire was finally put out, a single victim was found dead inside of the dwelling.

The origin and cause of the fire are not clear yet. Medical examiners are determining the exact cause of death. The fire caused roughly $200,000 in damage, according to fire marshals.
