The Raiders Clash With The Spartans

(FELTON, DE.)- On Tuesday night the Woodbridge Raiders Boy's Basketball Team clashed with the Division rival the Lake Forest Spartans and Head Coach Mike Starkey.

"Woodbridge has owned Lake Forest up to this point and this is my third year and sixth matchup with Woodbridge and they have beat us every time at this point and we always know it is going to be a battle but normally we have been getting the raw end of that deal," said Coach Starkey.

But this game had a different outcome as the Spartans defeated the Raiders.
Starkey said the team had success running up and down the court. His player Thomas Hoskins was a big factor in the win.

"He goes hard every single night and every single practice but he is a game changer and we assigned him to Corbin who is a fantastic player and I think he did a great job on him," said Coach Starkey."But Thomas night in and night out and goes harder than any other player I have ever coached and that is his motor and that is what makes him special."

A special moment in the game was when Hoskins dunked the ball. That is something he likes to do.

"Adrenaline will be rushing and my team gets me going and the crowd likes when I dunk and it gives everyone energy in the game," said Hoskins.

The Spartans are undefeated at home this year with a nine and 0 record.

"They feel supported and I feel they feel at home and it seems they play their basketball here on this court," said Coach Starkey.

Coach Starkey and his team will face Appoquinimick on Thursday, February 15th at 6:15.
Meanwhile, the Raiders will face the Laurel Bulldogs on the road on Thursday.
The game will begin at 5:15 P.M.
