(Lewes, DE.)- One of the most coveted coaching jobs now belongs to former St.Georges coach and former Cape alumni J.D. Maull. Maull has been tabbed to take over the Vikings football program.

"I always wanted to be the football coach at Cape and it is special because I grew up in Lewes and Bill Collick is a Legend and my grandparents followed him at Delaware State and he handed me to the keys to the new car and this is a great experience," said Maull.

Former Head Coach Bill Collick decided to step down at the end of this past season. Coach Collick said that Maull was a perfect choice.

"I look at things he has done and he started a program at St. Georges and I don't think he had any seniors and juniors and started the program from scratch and he is kind of earned it," said Coach Collick.

Maull is also working on bringing in a new coaching staff.

"It is special that I will bring on two Uncles to this staff and one was coaching last year and the other is my uncle Jay and he coached at Delaware state and he has a lot of experience coaching,'said Maull.

J.D. also plans to bring back Mike Tkach who was on Coach Collick's staff last year.
Maull said the two have always wanted to coach together and will now have that opportunity.
