(DOVER, Del.) - NASCAR DRIVER Joey Logano visited the Dover Air Force today to meet hundreds of active-duty military members and learned about the daily duties and mission of the U.S. Air Force during a tour. Logano said it's important to take a moment to see what is keeping us safe here in the United States.Logano said he is so thankful to be able to thank the military for their service.
"It is important to sometimes take a step back and see what our military has done and what they are doing at that moment and what keeps us safe here in the United States," said Logano.
Logano was also in town to promote the upcoming Dover races in May. Dover Speedway President Mike Tatoian was thrilled to have Logano in town.
"It does really help us promote the track and promote our race which will be coming up in the next few weeks under beautiful sunny skies so it serves a lot of purposes for us and I think he is doing a great job and then I think the airmen really appreciate it," said Tatoian.
Logano said the Monster Mile is one of his favorite tracks. Logano, a four-time Dover winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, has three top-5s and 10 top-10 finishes in 18 career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at the Monster Mile.
"It is grueling, physical and it is tough," said Logano.
Logano and the NASCAR guys will be back in Dover to compete at the Monster Mile on May 6th in the "AAA 400 Drive For Autism" Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race.
