(LEWES, Del.) -Zack Gelof was drafted in the 38th round by the Cleveland Indians. The Cape graduate was named the state player of the year and the Delaware Gatorade Player of the year.
"The key is working on your craft and you know developing that swing every day and working on hard on it,"said Gelof.
His baseball coach at Cape Henlopen High School Ben Evick said his swing is compact and his hands are strong.
"He gets the barrel to the ball and that is the thing and the barrel of his bat stops through the zone a long time which allows him to put it a lot of balls in play," said Coach Evick.
Gelof has been working hard to better every year.
"You can learn life lessons through the game of baseball and there are so many aspects that I just love and if you are the best you will fail seven out of ten times and that is what keeps everyone humble and that is why I love the sport," said Gelof.
This summer Zack will be playing in a Summer League in Massachusetts and then he is set to play at the University Of Virginia.
