(GEORGETOWN, Del.) -Sussex Tech's Patrick Short is back playing soccer. The sport he loves. He rehabbed for eight months from a left ACL tear to make that possible.
"Of course I knew I was going to get back and when but not as soon as I did so I really had the support of the coaches and training staff and so they helped me get back," said Short.
Sussex Tech Head Coach Carlos Villa gave him some advice during his recovery.
"Patience, I have gone through ACL tears and replacements as a player and it is developing that patience and as a young man he is eager to get back on the field," said Coach Villa.
The junior said it is good to be on the field again.
"I am actually more motivated and since I did miss the season I feel a little fresher and ready to go," said Short.
His Coach Villa said he is excited to have his offensive playmaker making plays.
Coach VIilla said he expects Short to be one of the top players this year.
Short and his teammates will start the season on the road against the Worchester Prep Mallards on Friday, September 7th. The game starts at 4 PM.
