(SEAFORD Del.) -Legendary High School Coach Jerry Kobasa is still doing his best to make an impact in Athletics.Kobasa coached basketball for 30 years and football for 10. He was the Athletic Director for 15 years at Sussex Tech and has been at Seaford High for the last four.
'Being around the sport and being around different coaches and as you start getting older you want to pass on some things to younger coaches and be a mentor and take them to go to point A to point B the right way, said Kobasa.
Kobasa schedules games, checks roster, maintains the athletic budget and more.
"You can start a schedule and get pulled this way and that way so you don't what is going to happen and this makes the job exciting, "said Kobasa.
Seaford Football Coach Dwayne Henry has known Kobasa since his time at Smyrna and Sussex Tech and that bond helped him land the head coaching position with the BlueJays.Coach Henry said Kobasa is a winner and someone he can lean on daily.
"If I need some advice on something with what to do or with players I can always bounce it off of him and he will allow me to make the decision but he will give me his advice," said Kobasa.
