Lewes Lights Registration Deadline Approaching

LEWES, Del. - Homeowners and business are illuminating the city for the first ever Lewes Lights. The new holiday initiative aims to spark friendly competition and tourism.

People throughout Lewes can sign up and light up their homes and businesses to be added to the interactive tour map. Then both locals and visitors are invited to take the tour. For privacy purposes homeowner names won't be listed.

There are five categories homeowners can compete in from simple colonial candles and wreaths to Clark Griswold style decor, Fun and Frosty kids choice home and Jolliest Street award. Those outside of city limits aren't eligible to compete, but can email their photos to leweslights@gmail.com to be featured on social media.

"It's not been the brightest of years and many local events were canceled this year for Christmas and that's a time we all look forward to in Lewes," says co-chair Debra Evalds.

"Come together as a family, be creative with the decorations they put up," says co-chair Christian Mullins. "It's a socially distant activity as well because when you experience the Lewes Lights tour map, you are not leaving your vehicles."

Homeowners and businesses can register at www.lewes.lights.org. The deadline to sign up is 5 p.m. on November 27th. Lewes Lights kicks off December 4th and runs through New Year's Eve.
