The old Rookery golf course in Milford will have a soft open as the Southern Delaware Golf Club Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to the public, according to the Property Supervisor, Bill Kupfer.

Spring wildfire season has begun as forest fuels are the driest at this time and weather conditions are warm, dry, and windy. Instead of burning outdoor debris, the Maryland Forest Service recommends using it for composting or mulching yard waste, leaves, and brush. 

The Delaware State Parks Beach Patrol interest form for the 2023 season is now open.

The two-week firearms hunting season for sika and white-tailed deer in Maryland opens Saturday and runs through Saturday, Dec. 10. Hunters will have more opportunities to get out on the weekends.

According to West, the determination was made by the Delaware Department of Justice.

Global Public Safety opened its doors in November in its first location in Delaware. It joins 11 other locations up and down the east coast.
