South Bethany Police Department Wages Increased

(South Bethany, DE) - South Bethany Town Hall has approved increased wages for the Police Department in the town. The council approved a $13,031 budget amendment to increase all salaries.

Police chief Troy Crowson said, "They found that we were the lowest of the 9 surrounding jurisdictions."

Starting salaries for patrolman will increase from about $36,000 to just below $42,000, which is right below the average for this area.

According to Chief Crowson, other police departments like Rehoboth and Lewes are $49,000 and $47,00 respectively.

The reason for change is to stay competitive with the other departments, said Chief Crowson
