(Annapolis, Md) - Good news about the reproductive health of the Chesapeake Bay fishery. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources says 2018 young of the year index is 14.8, higher than the 65 year average of 11.8. The juvenile striped bass survey has been conducted annually to measure spawning success. In addition to striped bass, the survey shows White perch and American Shad had above-average spawning success.
