(POCOMOKE CITY, Md.) - Maryland State Police have arrested a man in connection with the December 1st murder of 26-year-old James Allen Jr. in Pocomoke City.

Police say, 36-year-old Anthony M. Tunnell, of Mappsville, Va., was arrested without incident at a Motel 6 in Salisbury. Tunnel is charged with first- and second-degree murder, manslaughter and other drug-related criminal charges.

Lt. Earl Starner of the Maryland State Police said "This crime is absolutely a targeted crime where the victim James Allen was targeted by the defendant in this case Anthony Tunnel."

On December 1st, Allen, of Pocomoke City, was found at the corner of Market and 4th streets with multiple gun shot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors heard the gunshot that fatal night. Teresa Williams live two blocks "It is just sad. Sad that another young black man has to die in the streets the way that he did."

Maryland State Police said Tunnell might have been a part of a drug ring in Wicomico County. The investigation is on- going. Police say if you have any information contact the Maryland State police Berlin Barracks

Tunnel is currently being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center.
