(SALISBURY, Md.) - A 16-year-old juvenile is being charged as an adult for attempted 2nd degree rape, according to Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

Police say it happened on March 14, 2016, when the 15-old-juvenile female became the victim of a sexual assault in the home of the 16-year-old male suspect located on the 1800 Block of Clear Lake Drive in Salisbury, Maryland.

That's where police say the suspect detained the victim and continually attempted to force the victim to become involved in sexual acts and intercourse. Police say the victim continued to fight and indicate to the suspect that his attempts were not wanted. Police say the victim eventually escaped and fled the residence. was able to escape flee the residence.

The 16-year-old juvenile is being charged with attempted second degree rape, sexual contact without consent, assault 2nd degree and unlawfully and intentionally detain.
