(SALISBURY, Md.)- A number of students are treated after passing out this afternoon at Wicomico High School Friday.

Today Wicomico High Auditorium is hosting the middle school choral festival, with chorus groups from middle schools from all over the Eastern Shore, school officials said.

One middle school chorus from up the Shore had performed and then went into the sight reading room. At the end of the chorus' time in that room, 5-7 members of the chorus reported feeling ill. The chorus was taken outside while the students were receiving medical attention from school nursing staff and Salisbury EMS, according to Wicomico County Public Schools.

The chorus whose students reported symptoms has completed its time at the festival and is no longer at the auditorium. The festival is continuing and school is continuing at Wicomico High School as scheduled.

The investigation is continuing. At this time it appears a number of factors may have been involved: All seven of the students who reported feeling ill had not eaten breakfast prior to the festival, and the room in which the chorus did sight reading was warm at the time. Further updates will be provided as details become available.
