Parsonsburg Man Faces Alleged Strangulation Charge
Joseph Dukes, of Parsonsburg, was arrested in connection with an investigation into a Child Abuse complaint.
In this case, Dukes stands accused of attempting to strangle his 17 year old son and punching him in the face with a closed fist. During the investigation the deputy observed signs of injury that corroborated the account and was also informed that Dukes was intoxicated.
Dukes was gone from the residence upon the arrival of the deputy.
The deputy obtained a warrant for Duke's arrest and upon his apprehension he was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner.
Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Dukes in the Detention center in lieu of $50,000.00 bond. At bond review the following day, the bond on Dukes was raised to $100,000.00.
