(SALISBURY, Md.)- Detectives and Officers of the Salisbury Police department initiated an investigation into the unattended death of a 29 year-old who was found deceased in the wooded area, Wednesday morning, police said.

The discovery was made behind the Royal Farms convenience store located at 101 North Salisbury Blvd, according to authorities.

A representative from the

Medical Examiner's Office of the State of Maryland was called to the scene where an investigation was conducted, police said.

The investigation revealed that the victim, Montreece Dionshawnea Mitchell, 29, of Salisbury, was homeless and residing in a tent just off of the

railroad tracks, behind the Royal Farms.

Upon closer examination of the deceased by the medical examiner, there did not appear to be any immediate evidence of foul play.

Detectives are continuing to

interview witnesses related to the investigation.

The deceased will be transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for further evaluation.

The investigation remains open until the autopsy is concluded.
