(OCEAN CITY, MD.) - Police are investigating an isolated shooting that happened between 8th and Washington Street in Ocean City in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The OCPD responded to the incident at a bus stop located at 8th and Baltimore.

When police and EMS arrived at the scene, witnesses were giving first aid to the victim.

According to Lindsay Richard, OCPD spokesperson, the unknown suspect shot a gun three times but only one bullet hit the victim around his buttocks.

The victim is a 21-year-old male from Glen Burnie, MD whose identity had yet to be revealed.

The man was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center and released by the hospital this afternoon.

The investigation has slowed down because the victim is not cooperating with them, say police.

"We want to stress to citizens that this was an isolated incident and we also want to let the citizens know that while on the scene officers discovered drugs, money and other pertinent evidence," Richard explained.
