(OCEAN CITY, Md.)- New developments in the back and forth negotiations between Ocean City and its police department's union.

The two were at odds with whether to increase officers' salaries, benefits and pensions. Now that has changed.

They will avoid arbitration by coming to a tentative three year agreement.

Union president Shawn Jones says the majority voted to accept the contract terms proposed by the town of Ocean City.

This came after talks reached a stalemate two weeks ago because both sides agreed to disagree.

Now it's up to the mayor and council to give it the go-ahead.
