(OCEAN CITY, Md.)- The Ocean City mayor has confirmed that the skateboard and BMX classics, the Dew Tour Beach Championship is set to not return to the resort town.

The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon. Ocean City was one of four stops on the 2014 Dew Tour schedule.

The five-day event featured world renowned athletes in the sports of skateboard and BMX, amateur surf and skateboard competitions.

The Town of Ocean City spokeswoman Jessica Waters tells WRDE that Dew Tour will not be back in Ocean City this year.

She says Dew Tour are mixing up the format and the change has nothing to do with the resort's numbers last year. Waters said, Ocean City saw record-breaking numbers last year.

Baltimore's own Skateboard Vert Champion Bucky Lasek, BMX Park Champion Ryan Nyquist, nine-time BMX Vert Champion Jamie Bestwick and Skateboard Bowl Champion Pedro Barros have competed in Ocean City.
