Rehoboth Beach - Rehoboth Beach police are seeking assistance to help find a suspect in a Saturday night stabbing incident on the Boardwalk. Police said a fight broke out after 10:00 PM in the Wilmington Avenue area. Photos have been released showing a man man wearing a New Balance Sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and dark colored sneakers take what appears to be a knife and stab the victim, an 18-year-old Milton man.

It is a crime that is uncommon for this popular tourist destination. "We do have assaults in Rehoboth but not many involve weapons or stabbings," Lt. Jaime Riddle of the city's police department told WRDE. " We have been fortunate in that manner. However, we are prepared to handle it and are doing so." In 2018, Rehoboth Beach reported 57 assault offenses equaling the number from 2017.

The victim of the Saturday's stabbing was taken to the hospital. His injuries were deemed serious but not life threatening. He was reported in stable condition in the most recent update from the police. Riddle is asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information to contact Detective Tyler Whitman at (302) 524-1391.
