(DEWEY BEACH, Del.) - A new story time event in Dewey Beach is a way for families with small children to spend time together.

Summer Stories by the Ocean will be held the second Sunday of every month starting this week and running through September.

The event is at the Dewey Beach Life Saving Station. The weather for the first night forced the reading event inside, but future readings could be outside or even on the beach.

Commissioner David Moskowitz and local school nurse, Bobbie Redefer approached the Rehoboth Beach Library to start this event.

Now the library will bring a variety of stories and read them to families and children. Healthy snacks will also be provided.

Commissioner Moskowitz will be attending with his new baby girl. "Morgan is my one-month old baby girl and Dewey Beach is something for everyone," he says. "You have the night life, you have the dogs, and you also have the families. You have some great events like Movies on the Beach and now there's Stories by the Ocean."

Moskowitz says more readers and guest speakers are needed. Those who are interested or wish to offer up ideas may email him: davidm@townofdeweybeach.com.
