Milton - Thursday saw the Dogfish Head / Samuel Adams (Boston Beer Company) merger. On Friday, the two new business partners addressed Dogfish employees at the Delaware brewery. "It was great for me," Samuel Adams founder Jim Koch told WRDE. "They have the same passion (as Boston Beer Company employees), they have the same energy and enthusiasm for their jobs and they are committed to making a super high quality product."

Koch and Dogfish Head co-founder Sam Calagione arrived in Milton just before 5:00 PM on Friday. In addition to the now formal collaboration of entities focused on the production of beverages, Dogfish Head also owns an Inn in Lewes along with brewpubs and restaurants in the mid-Atlantic region. According to Calagione, those will continue to operate as normal. "Our inn and our pubs are important to us as a company as a brand and as a delaware force," Calagione said. They are not going anywhere."

"I think what he has done here is a great job and we are going let him keep doing it because that is why we buy into dogfish head," Koch said.
