(LAUREL, Del.) - Tuesday afternoon Governor John Carney gets his first look at the aftermath of the EF2 torando that soared through Laurel earlier this week.

Carney visited an area west of Route 13 that was hit hard by Sunday night's storm. State and Sussex County Emergency Management staffers say Delaware might not qualify for federal disaster relief because not enough buildings were destroyed or damaged. Carney says he'll ask for the money anyway.

Carney says, "If you happen to not qualify because you're one of two homes short let FEMA make that description, but put an application in and see where it goes because these people need some help."

Neighbors in Laurel spent their Tuesday calling insurances companies and cleaning up the damage. Power crews were also busy fixing downed wires around Sussex County.
