(GEORGETOWN, Del.) - New food choices will roll into Georgetown at the beginning of next month thanks to both the Town and the Chamber of Commerce. Food Truck Tuesdays will run May to September.

Starting May 14th, three to four food trucks will park on the first block of East Market Street and open up shop. Casapulla's will bring The Big Salami, Zogg's will bring The Sea Hogg, and the local Truck it Food Truck will be present. The restaurants will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Georgetown Playground and Parks Inc. bought picnic tables for what is called the "Alleyway Activation Project." The tables will be placed in the Cherry Lane alleyway for customers to have a seat while they enjoy their meal.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Kevin Thompson hopes the food trucks will bring people out of their offices during the day. "A lot of people stay in their office, they bring their lunch. It will give them an opportunity to get out of the office, walk around downtown a little bit, kind of see some of the shops downtown that maybe they haven't had an opportunity to see in the past," he says.

If Food Truck Tuesdays are a success, this could become a weekly event next year.
