REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- The "Forgotten Mile" will be getting a facelift.

Starting March 11th, the Delaware Department of Transportation will be improving and paving both directions of Route One between Washington Street to Swedes Street, also known as the Forgotten Mile. DelDOT says the work will consist of "pavement milling, concrete patching, overlay and improvements to the curb ramps in compliance with ADA, pavement markings, and striping."

The work will close lanes and shoulders and create possible delays for drivers. The project is set to last from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday from March 11th to late May, and resume after the summer season. DelDOT says the project's dates could shift due to weather.

DelDOT asks that drivers be aware that construction crews and equipments will be close to cars, and ask drivers to prepare for lane shifts.
