LEWES, Del.- The Lewes Fire Department is cooking up a fundraiser.

Friday night, the organization is hosting its 29th annual shrimp feast. The ladies only event is a complement to the Georgetown Fire Company's Oyster Eat for men.

"It is our biggest fundraiser of the year," says Glenn Marshall. "It allows us to interact with the public in a non emergent way. Any time we can have a community outreach like that, it's a win for everybody."

Marshall says the shrimp feast proceeds will help fund equipment and operations. The event starts at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
