He spoke with local business owners about their expectations for the summer season once the tourism industry reaches its peak at the Delaware beaches.

Naturally business is slower in the offseason. Empty store frontage is not uncommon during the winter months. With summertime on the horizon, several new businesses are looking to open their doors just in time to welcome the 7 million plus visitors that come to the area each year.

Memorial Day Weekend is the kickoff for the summer season. Local businesses, as well as Governor Carney, are looking ahead with positive attitudes as to what's in store for the economy this year.
