Dover Woman Stabbed During Verbal Argument
Police say it happened just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, as Perkins-Hunt was involved in a verbal altercation with a 24-year-old female and a 22-year-old female, both of Dover, in the parking lot of the Alder Park Apartments.
During the argument, Perkins-Hunt produced a steak knife and proceeded to stab the 24-year-old female in her upper torso area. Police say she then used the knife to puncture a hole in a tire of a vehicle belonging to the 22-year-old female before fleeing to her apartment where she was taken into custody by responding troopers without incident.
The 24-year-old victim was transported to the Kent General Hospital where she was treated for her non-life threatening injury. There were no other injuries.
Perkins-Hunt was arrested and transported to Troop 3 where she was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, and Criminal Mischief.
She was arraigned at JP Court 7 and then committed to the Delores Baylor Correctional Institution for lack of $25,100 secured bail.
