(Bridgeville, Del) - The Delaware State Police have arrested two men in connection with numerous burglaries and thefts in the Bridgeville area after identifying a criminal trend on Monday, November 9, 2015.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, Troopers responded to a residence in the 17,000 block of Meadow Drive, Bridgeville for a report of a burglary. The victim advised entry was made into an unsecured garage and medication was stolen. There was also an attempted burglary at another address on Meadow Drive. The suspects were seen opening a storm door and pulled the door handle in attempt to gain entry into the residence. Both suspects were later seen in the neighborhood and were apprehended by Troopers and a Delaware State Police Canine Unit. The suspects were taken into custody and transported to Troop 5 in Bridgeville.

Delaware State Police Detectives were able to link the two through investigative measures to several other burglaries and thefts in the Bridgeville area. In most of the incidents, the two suspects would enter the unsecured residences and unsecured vehicles during the nighttime hours. The items stolen were money, prescription medication and other miscellaneous items from vehicles and garages.

Shane J. Fairbank, 30 of Bridgeville, was arrested on November 11, 2015 and was charged with four counts of Burglary 2nd Degree, two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Attempted Burglary 2nd degree, Criminal Trespass 3rd degree, Felony theft, four counts of Theft, two counts of attempted theft, two counts of Attempt to Acquire or Obtain Possession of a Controlled Substance by Theft, two counts of Conspiracy 2nd degree, two counts of Criminal Mischief. Kenneth (Kenny) H. Fairbank Jr., 31 of Bridgeville, was arrested on November 11, 2015 and was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Attempted Burglary 2nd degree, Attempt to Acquire or Obtain Possession of a Controlled Substance by Theft, Attempted Theft, two counts of Conspiracy 2nd degree dwelling. They were both arraigned at Justice of the Peace #3 and remanded to the Delaware Department of Corrections on $71,250.00 (Shane J. Fairbank) secured bond and $28,000.00 secured bond (Kenneth H. Fairbank Jr.).

The Delaware State Police urge people to utilize the following tips:

Lock your car doors and roll up you windows

Lock the doors to your garage

Lock the doors and windows to your residence

Do not leave valuables inside your vehicle

Leave outdoor lights on in the driveway or have security lighting installed

Report any suspicious activity to 9-1-1 immediately
