(SALISBURY, Md.)- The playoffs are underway for teams and athletes from Wicomico County high schools. Some of the games will be played at home this week, giving local fans and the community the chance to come out and root for the home team.

Golf: The Maryland State Golf Finals were played at the University of Maryland Golf Course Monday. Two Wicomico County students competed, a great accomplishment for both of those young men to be among the top 81 golfers in the state. Congratulations to Jakob Keidel (Parkside), 41st place with 159, and Ayden Whitehead (James M. Bennett), 53rd with 163.

Unified Tennis: The combined James M. Bennett High and Mardela High team will compete in the Unified State High School Tennis Tournament Nov. 4 at Loyola University's Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore.

Volleyball (all games Nov. 5; further games will be determined on that date):

Cross Country: All four schools will compete in cross country playoffs on Nov. 5:

Football: This weekend will be the last weekend of regular season play, with playoffs starting Nov. 13.
