Delaware State Police Investigate 7-Year-Old Death in Oak Orchard
Rumors about how the boy passed away are circulating, "it is a tragedy," said Terry Campbell, waitress at Ocean Grill. But the police are unable to confirm the cause of death or identify the child. They can only confirm that no foul play is suspected in the incident.
Some members of the Long Neck community are finding out about this tragedy via social media. "I first saw it on Facebook, someone said a little boy died," said Campbell.
According to Indian Rivers School District, the boy attended Long Neck Elementary. The sign outside the school reads "Bless You Nathan."
After investigating further, we found a GoFundMe.com account, labeled "Funeral Expenses For Nathan."
The account was created by a woman who claims to be the boys Aunt. She describes her nephew as "a funny, charismatic, and loving little boy." The family is asking for money to give Nathan the funeral they feel he deserves.
Information would come from the Division of Forensic Science. No foul play is suspected, according to police.
WRDE reached out to the Indian River School District, and school officials released the following school district:
