(BEAR, Del.)- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the robbery of a Bear area bank that occurred late Monday morning.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Monday, September 21, 2015 at approximately 11:25 a.m., as a male suspect entered the M&T Bank branch located at 10 Fox Hunt Drive, Fox Run Shopping Center, Bear. The suspect then approached a female bank teller and presented her with a demand note for cash. The employee complied with the suspect's demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to him. No weapon was displayed or implied. The suspect then fled from the bank in an unknown direction, leaving behind a backpack. Responding troopers evacuated the bank until the arrival of the Delaware State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit who determined that the backpack posed no danger. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a white male, 35-40 years of age. He was 6'00"-6'02" tall and was last seen wearing a red and grey striped shirt, shorts, and sneakers. There is no further physical or clothing description available. No video surveillance photos are available at this time.

As this is an on-going investigation, specific details have not been released so as to not jeopardize the investigation.
