(DEWEY BEACH, Del.) - Two recent bar brawls cause the town of Dewey Beach to find solutions to this problem.

The most recent bar fight spilled out onto Dagworthy Avenue after pepper spray had to be deployed by police.

The fight sent three to jail, but not after back-up had to be called in by Lewes, Rehoboth and Delaware State Police.

Neighbors tell WRDE this incident was the worst fight they have ever seen and they were actually scared.

Best friends Hannah Worsh and Carly Schiavoni come to Dewey Beach to visit the bars and they aren't a big fan of these fights.

"We come here to have a good time and enjoy ourselves. And the bar fights are kind of hindering that," said Worsh and Schiavoni.

To stop fights from happening the town has set up special lighting from DelDOT.

The town hopes by illuminating dimly lit Dagsworthy and McKinnely Avenues, it will stop people from getting into trouble.

The lights went up after the last fight occurred on July 27th and no reported incidents have happened.

Stephanie Cannon visits Dewey Beach with her 6-year-old son Zachary and she doesn't feel bothered by the recent incidents.

"I mean it happens, it shouldn't happen, But if you're going to a bar you should be an adult and be mature about it. But sometimes things happen and people get in fights," explained Cannon.

Other ideas include amping up security and possibly monitoring the type of music played at the bars.
