(Georgetown, Del.) Sussex County will once again have a woman heading its Economic Development Office beginning next week.

Melody Booker-Wilkins, of Milford, will fill the position vacant since February when Julie Wheatley resigned to become Research Park Manager at Wallops Research Park on Virginia's Eastern Shore.

Booker-Williams holds a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Delaware and a BA in Political Science from the Univ. of Maryland. She was chosen from a field of nine finalists.

"The business community will find her to be an invaluable resource and strong partner in our collective goal of creating jobs here in Sussex County," according to Sussex County Council president Michael Vincent.

The Economic Development office serves as a resource for employers, working closely with business and community leaders to stimulate economic growth and retain jobs in Sussex County.
