Unsolved Cabbie Murder Requires Public's Help
William used to work at Dewey Beach Taxi.
August 20, 2014 is a day Rusty Butler will never forget.
"The supervisor and me knew will real well. And it was real hard i think of it everyday," said Dewey Beach Taxi manager Rusty Butler.
This is the route William took from Rehoboth to Millsboro.
William headed north on route one turning on Miller Road and then onto Airport Road.
From there he headed toward route twenty-four, crossing over route one-thirteen and onto route thirty.
After making a right turn onto Godwin school road he turned into Parker Pointe.
The cab spent ten minutes in the neighborhood before leaving.
Residents in the area said it was chilling to hear what happened.
"But I think my biggest concern is how it can happen so close, and it sounded like they picked this person up from somewhere else and brought them out here. So it's concerning," said Parker Pointe resident Teresa Cason.
After leaving the neighborhood detectives say the cab traveled back down Godwin School Road heading westbound toward Country Living Road where the cab and William's body were found.
Twenty-three days later, still very little is known about that tragic ninety-four minute ride.
Detectives are releasing these investigative details to gather more information and additional witnesses.
