SELBYVILLE, Del.- Delaware State Police have released the name of a woman killed in a Saturday night crash in Selbyville.

Troopers identified the victim as 74-year-old Rosemary A. Amato, of Weston, Ohio.

Police said the incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, when a 2018 Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on Gum Road and approaching the intersection of Roxanna Road (SR 17), which is controlled by a stop sign for southbound traffic.

The operator of the Traverse, a 50-year-old man from Middle River, Md., was properly restrained.  He was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md., and later transferred to Baltimore Shock Trauma with serious injuries.  There were also three passengers in the Traverse, a 53-year-old female, a 36-year-old male and a 36-year-old female. Police said all three passengers were properly restrained and transported to PRMC, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
