ELLENDALE, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested 28-year-old Joshua A. Wright, the third suspect wanted in connection with a June shooting at an Ellendale bar.

Officers say Wright was arrested after finding him as a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation on North Old State Road in Lincoln on Friday afternoon. Wright was charged on active warrants in connection with the June incident, including: 

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Riot-intent to commit facilitate commission of felony or misdemeanor
  • Second-degree conspiracy
  • Third-degree assault

He was also charge with multiple drug-related offenses in connection with the traffic stop. He was ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution on $223,600 cash bail. 

The shooting occurred at around 1 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at the Gateway Tavern, located at 12327 DuPont Boulevard. When troopers arrived on the scene, they located a 38-year-old man outside who stated he had been shot in the lower extremity by an unknown person. The victim was then transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation that followed, troopers identified three suspects, 36-year-old Reggie D. White, of Lincoln, Del., 38-year-old Curtis L. Taylor, of Greenwood, Del., and 28-year-old Joshua A. Wright, of Milford, Del. 

On Sept. 13, 2019, White turned himself in at Troop 4 and was charged with:

  • Riot-Intent to Commit Facilitate Commission of Felony or Misdemeanor
  • Second-degree conspiracy 
  • Third-degree assault

He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $6,000 unsecured bond.

On Sept.  12, 2019, Taylor turned himself in at Court 4 and was then transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with:

  •  Riot-Intent to Commit Facilitate Commission of Felony or Misdemeanor
  •  Second-degree conspiracy

Taylor was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $5,000 unsecured bond.
