ACCOMACK, Va. - Republican incumbent Robert Bloxom has won the State House District 100 seat up for grabs in Tuesday's election.
 
Bloxom secured 11,866 votes to win the seat, which represents all of Virginia's Eastern Shore and a part of Norfolk. Opponent Democrat Philip M. Hernandez received 10,979 votes.
 
Virginia is holding an off-year election but a lot hangs in the balance.
 
Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam is not up for election.
 
Republicans held a slim majority in both the state House and Senate heading into Tuesday's election with democrats hoping to take control of the statehouse and the governor's mansion for the first time in more than two decades.
