KENT ISLAND, Md.- The Coast Guard searches for a missing boater by helicopter and boat along with Maryland authorities after his boat washed ashore without him on it Thursday afternoon.

According to the Coast Guard, a person on Kent Island saw the man's boat come ashore slowly and notified the Coast Guard Station in Annapolis. The person said the boat came to shore running with fishing lines out and freshly caught fish. This prompted the search.

The Coast Guard says a phone was later found aboard and the man's truck and trailer were found at a marina in Deale. The marina says the man left around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. A friend was in contact with the missing man just before 1 p.m., according to the Coast Guard.

This missing man is 65-years-old and Asian.

Coast Guard officials ask that if anyone saw anything or has any information, that they contact the Sector Maryland-National Capital Region at 410-576-2525 or on VHF-FM Channel 16.
