Local Businesses Serving Those in Need
SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. - Restaurants, recreational facilities, and popular breweries in Sussex County are giving back to the community this holiday season.
At Mispillion River Brewing Company, every Tuesday in November 100 percent of the tips and 10 percent of sales go directly to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
"It's a pleasure to be a part of and really proud as Mispillion River Brewing can be apart of this wonderful event to benefit our community," said Megan McNamara Williams, co-founder of Mispillion River Brewing Company.
The toys will be given out to families in need over the upcoming weeks.
Grassroots Rescue and Shell We Bounce also teamed up to host a fundraiser on Tuesday night. Anyone who mentioned Grassroots when purchasing a bounce session or food, the rescue would receive 25 percent of all donations.
Fork and Flask in Rehoboth Beach encouraged customers to bring in canned goods for the food pantry a Epworth United Methodist Church.
"It's a perfect time to give thanks, spread some holiday cheer...it's a community around here, and we just wanted to give back to the community that supports us,” said Sean Corea, executive chef and general manager of Fork and Flask.
With the help of the restaurant, the church will be able to provide meals on Thanksgiving.
