LEWES, Del.- DNREC invited the public to their 5th year of their opt outside event on Black Friday. Many people in Sussex County spent the day at the Cape Henlopen State Park rather than Black Friday shopping.

Some people took advantage of the nice weather and free admission to the Cape Henlopen State Park. Many families were seen taking family photos, walking their dogs or enjoying nature.

DNREC says they have participating in this event, along with more than 700 organizations and seven million people.

Jane Laukoter is visiting from Dallas, Texas. Laukoter and her son, Frankie rather spend their time outdoors than shopping indoors.
"I have already done shopping online, the past few days and I just thought the weather was great today. I knew it would be a better alternative than being stuck inside shopping, I rather enjoy the great scenery," says Laukoter.
DNREC says the Cape Henlopen State Park was opened on Black Friday at 8 a.m. until sunset.
